Projects.
10 projects. Some are software and games that run today. Others are lines of reading about hardware that nobody here has built. Each one states how far it has got, and each page ends with what is still unknown.
- Alive 2
- Running here now. You can look at it, and there is something to join.
- Seeded 3
- Started. Parts of it exist, parts are still being read and costed.
- Horizon 5
- An idea with sources behind it and nothing built. Published so it can be argued with.
Built here
Things that run in the workshop today. Each page is written from the running system.
Read and costed
Lines of reading from Jo’s survey of what computers may be made of next. Each claim carries the grade the survey gave it.
- Robots you can build yourself Open hands and arms, and what under €600 of parts now reaches. Seeded
- Glasses as an agent interface An open operating system for glasses, and a local model behind it. Seeded
- Growing food at home Mushrooms first, because there is already a complete design for them. Seeded
- The brick A phone with no microphone, no speaker and no camera. Currently an idea. Horizon
- Talking without the network Community LoRa, and how someone in Europe gets a node up cheaply. Horizon
- Synthetic diamond The highest thermal conductivity of any bulk material, and where its limit sits. Horizon
- Computing with living neurons A real shipping product, and a marketing story that is the exact inverse of the measurements. Horizon
- AI in the chip itself Neuromorphic hardware, and why a robot would want its model on board. Horizon
How the research pages are graded
The research comes from a survey Jo compiled in August 2026: eleven parts and 442 retrieved sources. The survey grades each claim, and the grade is printed beside the claim on these pages. A lead stays marked as a lead. Where sources conflict, both are given.
Every link, part number and price was taken from a source. Prices carry the month they were gathered and are snapshots.
Taking part
These projects are open to more than one person. The members’ cloud is where the work is shared: files, chat, the repositories and the agents. Access is built on trust, so start by saying who you are.
